Should You Create An Elopement Music Playlist ?(+ songs to include)

We all have those songs that take us back to a place in time, evoking the sweetest memories. Naturally, your wedding or elopement is incomplete without them. Music has this incredible ability to capture all of our emotions without saying a single word. With that in mind, as a Paris celebrant, I’ve had the pleasure of uniting beautiful couples with the most magnificent sounds playing in the back, creating the utmost idyllic setting for their ceremony.

Moreover, creating a playlist is considered fine art. It takes time and dedication to create a list of songs for someone that will capture who they are in all of their glory. Since elopements are known for their intimate and exclusive feel, creating a playlist for one requires careful attention to detail to convey your love story perfectly. Oddly enough, couples usually overlook the audial aspect of an elopement wedding, focusing only on the visual one, which, ultimately, is a huge mistake. For that reason, I want to show you why you absolutely need to create an elopement music playlist, and I will also provide you with a few personal song favorites.

Music Creates The Ultimate Setting

Imagine you’re watching the most romantic movie muted. Without the music, something feels out of place, doesn’t it? Well, the same applies to your elopement wedding. Simply, the moment when you say your deeply emotional vows, the whole moment feels impressively magical, being surrounded by the sweet sound of music. You can choose to include a musician, like a violinist or a whole string quartet, or you can play your elopement wedding songs through a speaker. Either way, you’ll create a setting that will be remembered forever!

Dictate Your Own Rhythm

The beauty of an elopement music playlist is that it can be done in whatever way you like. Whether it’s the heart-warming voice of Norah Jones or the pounding synths of Aerosmith, you decide your own rhythm. With that in mind, choose elopement wedding songs that speak most to you, and capture who you are as a couple. Furthermore, don’t stick to traditions – you have the full freedom to fully personalize your elopement music playlist that will be uniquely and authentically yours.

Elopement Songs Stay With You Forever

Your elopement music playlist featuring your favorite songs will hit differently during your ceremony. And rightfully so – you’ll always remember the most wonderful sounds that take you back to your special day. In most cases, an elopement wedding goes by in a blink of an eye. Still, you can include some traditional wedding elements, like the first dance, to further extend the experience of sentimental moments.

So, what songs should you include in your elopement music playlist? As I’ve previously mentioned, the choices are completely up to you! It’s your event, after all! However, if you need some ideas, here are some of my personal favorite elopement wedding songs.

  1. Lady Gaga – “Always Remember Us This Way”
  2. Taylor Swift – “Lover”
  3. Rihanna – “Love On The Brain”
  4. Ed Sheeran, Andrea Bocelli – “Perfect Symphony” (ideal if you include a string quartet)
  5. Eric Claptone – “Wonderful Tonight”
  6. Ariana Grande – “pov”
  7. Michael Buble – “Crazy Love”
  8. INXS – “Never Tear Us Apart”
  9. Ann Peebles – “Until You Came Into My Life”
  10. Donnie & Joe Emerson – “Baby”

I strongly urge you to create an elopement music playlist ceremony for your intimate celebration. Without it, you’ll miss a vital part of the wonderful experience. If you need help planning an elopement wedding or require my services as a Paris celebrant, don’t hesitate to contact me!
